Generally, many people are not aware of the importance of backing up their iPhone/iPad until it is too late. Your iPhone or iPad probably contains some important and confidential data that you may lose in many situations, such as accidentally deleting the data, your iPhone is stolen/lost or even when the iPhone fails to upgrade then perhaps you may lose your valuable data.
Your iPhone or iPad stores all your valuable photos, messages, health data, documents, settings, and much more. However, if you are afraid of losing your data, the best way to secure it, is to take a backup. A backup contains your device settings, app organization, app data, messages, ringtones, health data, and HomeKit configurations.
Backup iPhone/iPad with iCloud
The easiest way to backup the data is to use the iCloud service, which gives you 5 GB of free storage space. However, if you run out of this space you will be required to pay for the additional space.
To Backup iPhone/iPad data on iCloud follow the steps below:
- Download and Install the Latest Version of iTunes to your Windows/Mac system.
- Open iTunes and Connect your iPhone/ iPad to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
- As soon as you plug in, you will be prompted to Trust or Do Not Trust option on your iPhone/iPad. Simply, tap on Trust.
- Now, click on the Phone icon which appears in your iTunes window.
- Select the Summary tab in the sidebar Menu, to see the details of your iPhone/iPad and backup options.
- Select the option iCloud and click on the Back Up Now option to proceed to the Backup process.
- By default, the iTunes backup will not include your account passwords, the Wi-Fi settings or your Health and HomeKit data. If you wish to backup these contents, you can make an encrypted iTunes backup. In the Backups section, checkmark the Encrypt iPhone Backup option and set a password when promoted.
- After completing the Backup process, you should be able to see the Latest Backup of your iPhone/iPad with a timestamp of the backup.
Data in our mobile devices are tremendously important in the present age, as we might carry around sensitive financial documents or it could be a memorable photo of our parents, which we are always afraid to lose, therefore it is never too late to back up such precious data.
