Is Qualcomm Planning For Snapdragon 865+ Processor?

Will It Come Out in 2020? Well, Rumor Has It!!

Is Qualcomm Planning For Snapdragon 865+ Processor?

The better the processor is the better your device will work. And eventually, the price of the phone will be more on condition that the processor is a pricey component. This brings us to the irony that we want better and faster gadgets but, we aren’t ready to pay the price.

The Snapdragon 865 Processor is one of the revolutionary breakthroughs that literally changed the way we think about gaming on mobile devices. The 5G Mobile Platform that is more intelligent and responsive than ever is a powered bundle of desktop-level gaming features.

Snapdragon 865 plus

The predictions say that the Snapdragon 865 consists of a few futuristic milestones (as below):

  • Global 5G
  • 5th Gen AI Engine
  • Real-Time Translation
  • 200 Megapixels Shots
  • 8K Video Capture (Dolby Vision)
  • Gigapixel Speeds

With the Snapdragon 865, you will experience the premium 5G and AI breakthroughs that haven’t been seen ever.

Now, as per the past patterns followed by Qualcomm, there are rumors that the company is planning to reveal the Snapdragon 865+ that will be huge.

Qualcomm’s Patterns and Snapdragon 865+

Talking about patterns and coming up with decorated versions of previous processors, Qualcomm launched Snapdragon 855+ almost after 6 months they launched Snapdragon 855. Same way, they have launched other processor versions within a few months and called it improved or latest version. We can expect the same this year also if the rumors are true.

We already are in awe of what Snapdragon 865 is offering and most of us don’t know entirely the capacity 865 can touch. In between, if 865+ gets revealed, it will be awesome and confusing at the same time.

Talking about the phones that are compatible with Snapdragon 865, are in the line of getting launched. The list includes ZTE Axon 10s Pro 5G, Samsung Galaxy S20, Xiaomi Mi 10 & 10 Pro, Realme X50 Pro, Xiaomi Black Shark 3, OnePlus 8 Pro, Asus Zenfone 7, and a few others.

Now, there are a lot of users (game geeks) who have made up their minds to go for Snapdragon 865 (desktop-level gaming experience) supporting flagship phones. However, I believe if you could wait for a few months, maybe you can get a better deal.

It’s quite evident that the Snapdragon 865+ processor will have a lot more than Snapdragon 865 holds. Resulting in the users can compare between the two and can go for the one that suits their usage. Now, if there are rumors of Snapdragon 865’s improved version in Q3 2020 that means there will be some improvements that Qualcomm didn’t go for in Snapdragon 865. Ultimately, this newer version of 865 (upon launch) will be considered as Snapdragon 865+ processor.

Digital Chat Station & Weibo

A group called Digital Chat Station has put a post on Weibo that says (translated version)

“The Snapdragon 865 Plus version is tentatively scheduled for Q3 this year. There will be engineering machine parameters in about two months, and the new coarse grain machine will start to iterate.”

So if this news is confirmed, then the wise decision would be to take a step back and wait for the most advanced version of Snapdragon 865.

What If You Waited For Q3 2020?

Now, there will be a lot of improvements in Snapdragon 865+ on the condition that it gets launched in Q3 2020. We would surely want to go for the latest one because the better processor is, the better is your experience.

Now, if the processor (Snapdragon 865+) gets revealed, automatically the price of phones (Snapdragon 865) will go down and they will be comparatively cheaper to be bought. As the companies are reasoning the price of flagship phones due to Qualcomm being pricey (one of the factors). So if the new version comes in the market, the older one becomes a bit cheaper and eventually, the phone price will go down.

The Xiaomi Executive took it to Weibo and talked about the pointers that make Mi 10 more pricey than the previous phones: (translated version)

“Talk about the pricing of Mi 10.

Compared with Mi 9, the increase in cost is mainly reflected in:

1.4G 855 upgraded to 5G processor 865, the cost doubles;

  1. The hard screen water droplets are upgraded to 3D flexible screen digging, which more than doubles the cost;
  2. Upgrade from 48 million three-shot to 100-megapixel four-shot, and dual OIS, DxO score first;
  3. Memory upgrade from DDR4 to DDR5; cost increased by 20%;
  4. Battery, fast charge, heat dissipation, and appearance all significantly increase costs.

Compared with friend M30Pro:

In the processor, screen, camera, charging, comprehensive experience, etc. all surpassed (or even rolled), the M30P price is 6899, while the Mi 10Pro is 4999, the price difference is nearly 2,000 yuan.

Thanks to many users / Mi Fans for understanding this, and very much expect Xiaomi to break through the price constraints, pursue the latest technology and the ultimate user experience, and create the perfect high-end flagship!

It is indeed very hot. We will work hard to overcome the difficulties brought by the epidemic and speed up the supply of capacity. Thank you for your company and understanding!”

So yeah, the phone price had been justified by the executive above and it should be this much considering it offers what it’s claiming above.

Conclusion

Buying something now and looking back after 6 months isn’t a good idea than waiting for a few months and getting a pretty good deal with an improved processor & cheaper phone.

The major question is what exactly should we expect from the Snapdragon 865 plus processor? Because we already have one in our kit that is amazing in performance, game-centric and offers premium 5G and AI breakthrough experiences.
