While browsing websites, we often see a prompt that says, “Sign in with Google.” on certain of them. These prompts are helpful if you want to register on any website. But what if you just want to visit that site for some information, and these prompts disturb you? In such a scenario, these prompts seem very disturbing, and everyone looks out for a way by which they can surpass these prompts.

If this Sign in prompt bothers you too, you no longer have to worry about it. This blog will discuss ways to fix your problem and disable these prompts.

How To Stop the “Sign in with Google” Prompt Popping Up on All Websites?

We use different browsers to surf the internet and are usually signed in to them through our Gmail account. The “Sign in with Google” is an inbound characteristic of a Google account, not a browser. Hence to stop such prompts on websites, the setting needs to be disabled from Google account settings on the browsers both on desktop and mobile.

Use the following methods to initiate the “Sign in with Google” removal process.

Method 1 – Changing Google Account Settings

1. Go to Google My account.

2. If you are not logged in, please sign in to your Gmail account.

3. Once you are logged in to Google my account, select Security from the left pane.

4. Scroll down the Security page to find “Signing in with Google.” Click o it.

5. On the next page, disable “Google Account sign-in prompts.”

6. You will now see an “Updated” message in the lower-left corner of your browser.

Also, the “Google Account sign-in prompt” will be grayed out.

This confirms that the settings are saved. 

Note: If you have multiple Gmail accounts, sign in to each account on your web browser and disable “Sign in with Google.

Method 2 – Customizing Google Chrome Settings

You can control pop-ups and redirects through Chrome settings if Chrome is your default browser. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Launch Google Chrome.

2. Click the three dots > select Settings

3. Now, click Privacy and security from the left pane > Site settings.

4. Under Site settings, scroll down and look for Po-up and redirects section.

5. Click on it. You will now find an option Don’t allow sites to send pop-ups or use redirects. Select the radio button next to it.

To allow pop-ups and redirects from certain websites, click the Add button and add the website URL.

Method 3 – Brute Force Way to Block Google Sign-in Promopts (Not Recommended)

Though this method has worked for various users, we do not recommend using it because it may have some secondary consequences. Still, sharing for those who are okay with the issues that may arise as they just want to block the sign-in prompts.

To use it, you need to add smartlock.google.com to your ad blocker.

Will disabling Sign in prompts affect Google Accounts?

After disabling the prompts, you may wonder if it will affect your Google account. You can stop worrying, as turning off prompts will neither affect your Google account nor will cause any issues when you sign in to a website or app.

If you dislike always signing in to your Google account, you can still block the pop-ups. You can use a good ad and pop-up blocker like StopAllAds.
