For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the value data of “Default” String value with the name of the item that you want to appear on the Start menu like “Google”.

Then, in the sub key “\InitPropertyBag\” you have to create “Command” and “param1” as the String values, if they do not exist. Finally, right-click and set the data values of both the string values with the command you wish to execute. For example, type the complete path of the file name that you want to execute like “C:\Programs\prg.exe” or an Internet link that should be opened like “http://www.google.com”. However, if you want to revert back, delete the inserted registry entry and clear the modified field.
