Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista
This setting limits the ability to change the wallpaper of the desktop. You can either prevent changing wallpapers or can only show Bitmap (.BMP) images as desktop background.

Prevent changing of wallpaper:
This prevents adding or changing of an image as desktop wallpaper. Normally, you can add an image to the Background list or change the wallpaper from Control Panel > Display > Desktop/Background tab. But, the given setting disables the necessary options to make these changes.

Show only Bitmap images as wallpaper:
With this setting, you can add only Bitmap (.BMP) images as wallpaper. Other image formats like JPEG, GIF, PNG, or HTML are not supported.

For this, go to Start > Run, enter "regedit" and search the keys listed below in relevant registry types. You can create DWORD values "NoChangingWallpaper" and "NoHTMLWallPaper" in registry types HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, if these values do not exist.

Now, set the Value Data to "1" in the respective Value Names and enable the restrictions on your desktop.

The changes will take effect after a restart or logoff.
