– Delete Old Update Files in Windows 10 By Stopping Windows Update Service

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box and press Enter
  2. Type msc and click on OK
  3. When the services window opens, search for Windows Update
  4. Right-click on it and choose Stop

  1. Open a Notepad
  2. Paste the above command in the Notepad
  3. Name and save the file with .cmd extension
  4. Place the file on your desktop
  5. Right-click on this file and then click on Run as administrator
