What Is “Tasks” – The New ChatGPT Feature?
Scheduled tasks enables ChatGPT to set tasks for itself to execute at a later time, even if the user is offline. Once the task is completed, users receive notifications via push alerts or email. This new feature is supported on ChatGPT Web, iOS, Android, and MacOS. It will roll out for Windows in the first quarter of 2025. The beta version of the “Tasks” feature allows users to set 10 tasks for now.

How Does The “Tasks” Feature Work?
The workings of the “Tasks” feature are simple. It creates content based on preset requirements at a certain time and date (daily, weekly, monthly) and sends a notification to the user.
The notification sent may include newly generated content like a summary of specific news or preset texts like “Call Mom”. The new “Tasks” feature can be used by ChatGPT users to set reminders and add tasks to their routines. Users can schedule daily weather reports to be sent as a notification on their PC or Smartphone.

How To Use The “Tasks” Feature On ChatGPT?
The “Tasks” feature is available to ChatGPT users who have Plus, Team, or Pro-Level subscribers. Here are the steps
- Open the ChatGPT web app on any browser and sign in to your account.
- Next, click on the profile icon located in the upper right corner.
- Select Tasks from the dropdown menu.
- Choose One of the options provided for creating tasks.
- After you have selected an option, type in the query with the date and time.
- You will receive a prompt to confirm the notification you have set.
- If you wish to remove any notification you have created then you need to access the Settings from the menu by clicking on the profile picture.
- Navigate to Notification Settings.
- Click on View All Tasks to check the existing tasks. Click on the three vertical dots next to the notification and choose Edit or Pause options.
