As per our first impressions of Huawei foldable phone, Huawei’s folding phone is a much-awaited foldable smartphone people are excited about.
How Huawei Mate X differs from the Samsung Galaxy Fold?
Both the foldable phones are similar to each other in terms of functionality and concept however there are few differences that make Huawei Mate X far better than Samsung Galaxy Fold.
The Cost Factor: If Huawei Mate X is approximately $600 costlier than Samsung Fold, there are differences to justify the same. Samsung fold will cost around $2000 and Huawei foldable phone will showcase for approx $2600.
Bigger Screen in Phone Mode: Samsung Galaxy Fold has a huge black border around the screen in phone mode and the screen measures only 4.6-inches when it’s folded. Compared to that, a 6.6-inch display of the Huawei Mate X made a huge difference in the Phone mode experience.
Secondary Display at The Back: Unlike the Samsung Fold, Huawei Mate X comes with a secondary screen at the back measuring 6.5-inches for a better viewing experience. Huawei foldable phone allows you to capture selfies or share whatever is displayed on your screen with others.
A Larger and Sharp Screen: When you turn the phone in tablet mode, you can witness that Samsung Galaxy Fold just stretches till 7.3-inches however it’s still smaller than the 8-inch display of Huawei Mate X. The screen resolution on Huawei’s phone is 2480 x 2200 pixel which is way higher than compared to 2152 x 1536 pixel of Samsung Fold.
Slim in Size: Huawei foldable phone measures 11 millimeters thick when it is folded while the Samsung Galaxy Fold is 17 millimeters thick. All thanks to the ‘Falcon Wing’ design that folds outward instead of inwards like the Samsung Fold.
No Ugly Notch: Fortunately Huawei Mate X realized the customer’s demand and has designed it the right way. When we unfold Samsung Galaxy Fold, it shows a huge diving notch located at the upper right corner to house those two cameras on the inside display. Huawei played safe here by placing the three Leica cameras at the back of the device on the hinge to avoid troublesome corner.
Bigger Battery With Fast Charging: Samsung’s folding phone has a 4380 mAh battery however Huawei Mate X will come packed with even larger 4500 mAh dual-battery. Huawei also claims that the battery will juice up 85% of a charge in just 30 minutes. Galaxy Fold has yet not disclosed the charging duration of Galaxy Fold.
5G Technology: Samsung Galaxy Fold will launch in 4G and 5G optional variants however Huawei Mate X will compulsorily ship with 5G support. Huawei ensured that the foldable phone will be future proof when it comes to networking. Considering that the US President banned Huawei for doing business in the U.S., Huawei will not launch the Mate X series in the U.S. On the other hand, The Galaxy Fold folding smartphone will be offering connectivity with the U.S. carriers.
