How to Add A Spoiler Tag To Text and Images on Discord?

Spoilers exist in various places and for complex reasons. They aren’t inherently good and could offend those who love to explore things. However, a section of users prevails that could take spoilers more constructively and could enjoy analyzing the context that is otherwise hidden behind the spoiler.

No matter which side you are on, Discord lets you add a Spoiler tag on text, images, links, and videos. This satiates both sides i.e. those who’d want to keep the information hidden to explore and then access the information. And, those who want to access the Spoiler right from the outset and analyze information.

How To Make Spoiler On Discord Mobile (Android/ iOS)

You can also add a Spoiler tag to a link, text, image, or video on your Android or iOS smartphone. Although, it’s a slightly different workaround.

  • To add a spoiler to a text or link, type or copy-paste the link or text and add || before and after the text. It is also important that you give a space between the text and the two vertical bars. So, for example, if you want to hide the message This is a spoiler, beware! The command will be || This is a spoiler, beware! ||

Once you hit the send button, you will see that the text is hidden.

  • To add a spoiler tag to an image or video, click on the + icon at the bottom left of the screen. Select the media that you want to add but don’t hit the send button yet.

Once you see the items in the queue (you will see a cross marked above each item), long-press the item on which you want to add the spoiler and tap on the Mark as spoiler checkbox.
