Undoubtedly, Television has played a pivotal role in the socialization of the 20th and 21st centuries. And with continuous improvements and technology being this big thing, Television got transformed from a big box into a flat-screen. Don’t forget the contrast, colors, and picture quality we experience these days.
With time, the advanced and improved technology brought major improvements in TV sets and gradually the huge and bulky ‘idiot boxes’ underwent a major makeover to a ‘size zero’. Yeah. Now it’s a flat-screen with ultra contrast that changes the way you watch TV and makes it look real as much as possible.
But unlike the old days, there are just a handful of players who literally dominate the market when we talk about amazing-eye-catching display along with astonishing designs. Notably, Samsung and Sony are the two giants who continuously come up with big screens with enhanced display quality making them absolutely adored by consumers.
Samsung’s Latest TV Unveiling at CES 2020
Now we all know that CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is a global stage to welcome new, sometimes weird, and innovative ideas related to technology. And as expected, this year at CES 2020, Samsung has unveiled its gorgeous new super-thin QLED 8K TV.
It’s purely a great combination of premium design, sophisticated picture quality, AI and immersive sound experience.
With the whole front screen, this product had been the hot topic at CES 2020 and it must be. An enormous screen with 8K resolution is certainly an aphrodisiac for tech geeks.

Was There Need For This?
Though being a breakthrough and an awesome product, the questions we should ask ourselves are, was there a need for this 8K resolution TV? What happened with 4K display TV? Wasn’t that good enough? Did it have any loopholes? If yes, were they taken care of while coming up with an 8K? How much memory it would want to work flawlessly? Will this one take more space in the living room or bedroom? And one of the last but the least, Is it worth buying?
CES 2019 TV Announcement
At CES2019, at one side Samsung claimed Micro LED as the next big thing, wherein LG stretched the limits of OLED with imaginative designs. Sony planned to add 8K to its Master Series and Panasonic to build Dolby Atmos for its 2019 flagship.
LG Signature OLED TV R, a weird futuristic tech that can be hidden inside TV stand while it isn’t in use. It then rises up out of the stand if and when you want to watch it. Wasn’t it amazing? An 88 inch or above screen TV that can be rolled in, if you aren’t using it, caught the attention.
It was like a combination of TV + showcase, exactly like with Samsung’s frame TV that exactly looks like a picture frame that shows museum art when you aren’t watching it.
Also not to forget, Samsung Serif TV that looks like a piece of furniture which has built-in shelves.
So these multi-purpose TVs have been manufactured from the past few years to give the user a different kind of experience.
With rollable 4K TV, you can either roll down completely or activate the “Line Mode” that will bring out one-fourth of the screen and will work as an audio streaming device for you.
The journey from OLED to MicroLED
The big giants in the Television manufacturing industry (LG, Panasonic, Sony, and Samsung) have quietly been working on their new advanced improved products with continuous technology transformation. From an OLED (organic light-emitting diode or Organic LED) TV to QLED and now as Samsung claims, MicroLED is the next big thing in TV tech.
Ask Yourself
These eye-catching screens and technologies make us go for them. However, it is important to do a detailed analysis before you go and buy any of these TVs. Are they worth spending so much money? What if you already feel satisfied with 4K resolution? What if you don’t have that much space for 8K TV? What were the reasons that companies had to come up with these new aspects of rolling, 8K, or MicroLED options? Is that another trick to be in the market by displaying new types of TVs?
Wrapping Up
None of the smart TV unveiled from these companies is a piece of cake as the already available are extensive and the soon-available will be wildly expensive, without a doubt. Since most of the people didn’t get a chance to have 8K TV installed in their homes, for most of us, 4K TVs have plenty of life left in them, I believe.
