WhatsApp is known for its features like text messaging and free voice calls. One of its feature lies in its capability to record and send messages within a conversation. It allows users to send messages to contacts via the app, this usually comes in handy when you’re in a place where you can’t type, such as while driving.
However, sometimes this feature becomes messy when the users accidentally tap on the record button and voice message being sent to your contact or group right away without any confirmation. Unfortunately, WhatsApp does not allow users to remove the record button, but we can workaround for the effective solution.
If you are not using this voice message feature quite frequently, then you can turn off the permission for microphone access so this voice message recording feature won’t work. In this article, we will walk you through the steps to disable voice message recording in WhatsApp for an iPhone.

Steps to Disable Voice Message Recording in WhatsApp:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap on Privacy.
- On the Privacy screen, tap on Microphone.
- Here, you will find a list of Apps which has permission to access the Microphone on your iPhone. Locate WhatsApp on this list and toggle OFF its access for the Microphone.
