Scammers are everywhere and on every digital platform imaginable. They are developing new techniques for scamming innocent victims. They steal victim’s money and other personal details which can be used for other frauds.

1. The Nigerian Scam:

Point of origin Nigeria, however, spread all around the world because of its effectiveness. Usually in this, you will be asked to send money. Scammers will contact you via different mode of communications like email, social media etc. They will build up a story and in this story, they are in a bad situation. And to get out of this situation they need money. They will also ask for your banking details to transfer back the money and once the information in sent to them they again steal your money from your account.

2. The Fake Banking Site:

Scammers create fake websites. These fake websites are copy of the original banking website or the websites on which you perform transactions. When you enter your details on these websites it will go to the criminals directly which then can be used to steal your money.

You will also receive email in which it is written that your banking details are leaked and you have to change the details immediately. Once you enter the details it will get transferred to criminals.

3. Lottery scam:

We all have received an email which claims that you have won a lottery. In the email it is written that you have won lots of money and to claim the money you have to pay some amount. This lottery does not exist and your money will be transferred to scammers.

4. Fake antivirus warnings:

As the name suggest in this fake security software will be installed on your system and it will show you fake warnings. You will get the warnings of the infections that do not exists. It will demand money for fake detections.

Another type of this scam exists, where you will see fake warnings on your browser and once you click on the warnings malicious software will get installed on your machine.

5. eBay scams:

It is one of the most popular ecommerce website around the globe. This ecommerce site provides a very good way for scammers to steal from the users. They can either be buyers or can be sellers.

If the criminals are sellers, then they sell wrong, fake or wrongly advertised product. Or if they are buyers then will place chargeback, will replace the product and resend it or they convince the seller to sell the product outside of ecommerce platform and once they do that, scammers will file a complaint against the sellers.
