Table of ContentsWhat Does the US Government Say About Coronaquine? The Findings From Using Chloroquine For COVID-19
I think the only question the whole world is asking right now is, “Is there any cure available for COVID-19?” I don’t think the world has ever been on the same page before on anything. There are many theories and every country that has advanced medical facilities are trying their best to come up with a cure for Novel Coronavirus.
Experiencing the rapid growth in the number of victims from Coronavirus, almost every region has asked the experts to come up with the cure as soon as possible. Even if not a cure, but at least something that can stop the virus from spreading.
With reference to the cure for COVID-19, the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump made a statement. On March 19th (Thursday), President Trump talked about the drug Chloroquine & Hydroxychloroquine.

What is Chloroquine or Hydroxychloroquine?
Chloroquine or Hydroxychloroquine is a very old drug that’s been used quite common as a malaria drug. The health entities consider this powerful drug for Arthritis cases as well. There is a benefit of this drug as it can be taken by mouth instead of as an injection.
Chloroquine is also being used as a medication form for rheumatoid arthritis and other parasitic infections. Like other medical drugs, Chloroquine has side effects also (if any) such as muscle problems, diarrhea, and skin rash. There are a few serious side effects as well that serious side effects include problems with muscle damage, vision, & certain anemias.
What Does the US Government Say About Coronaquine?
In the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room, President Trump said “As we race to develop a vaccine, we’re also pursuing antiviral therapies. The vaccine, by its nature, you have to have long tests because you have to make sure what goes into somebody’s body is not going to do destruction, do bad things. So you need long tests.”
Since the US government & Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are working together to come up with a cure, the current FDA Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn says:
“The President has directed us to take a closer look at Chloroquine, as to whether an expanded-use approach to that could be done to actually see if that benefits patients.” He also said that “We need — we need to make sure that these — this sea of new treatments will get the right drug to the right patient at the right dosage at the right time. As an example, we may have the right drug, but it may not be in the appropriate dosage form right now, and that may do more harm than good. Those are the things that that are our job to look at. And that’s why it’s really important we have these dedicated professionals looking at these aspects of therapeutic development.”
All of this happened on 19th March when the government officials from the United States of America assured the world that they are working around the clock to come up with a cure, however, it will take a bit of time.
The Findings From Using Chloroquine For COVID-19
Since Chloroquine has been used for quite a long time as an antidote for several malaria conditions, the government is trying to use it for COVID-19 as well. Obviously, there may be complications or the drug can do more harm than good. However, there is only one way to find out if this will work.
“the state will begin to implement drug trials and has acquired 70,000 doses of Hydroxychloroquine, 10,000 doses of Zithromax and 750,000 doses of Chloroquine. The trials will start Tuesday.”
He also said that “a new State Department of Health Emergency Order requiring all hospitals to develop plans to expand capacity within hospitals. The plan must expand capacity by a minimum of 50 percent with a goal of expanding capacity by 100 percent.”
Additionally, the Governor announced that “the state will mandate that all hospitals must cancel all elective, non-critical surgeries to help expand hospital capacity – effective Wednesday, March 25th.”
Dr. Stephen Hahn also talked about Chloroquine as a cure for COVID-19 that “We may have the right drug, but it might not be in the appropriate dosage form right now, and it might do more harm than good.”
So clearly there isn’t any treatment for COVID-19 as of now, however, the FDA is trying it’s best to have more clinical trials & long tests. These tests will give a solid answer if Chloroquine is the right treatment we are looking for.
Please know that you shouldn’t believe any of the information you find about the cure for COVID-19 as it directly involves a human life being on a dangerous platform. Don’t take any medicine without your health professional advice.
Recently, on 21st March, the US President Trump tweeted a post about the mixture of two drugs he claims to be the “game changers” in the history of medicine.
HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine. The FDA has moved mountains – Thank You! Hopefully they will BOTH (H works better with A, International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents)…..

The above post can be considered as an excitement about finding a cure for COVID-19, however, it’s too soon to be told. The FDA commissioner says that there are some laboratory findings that states that Antimalarial drugs can be beneficial for a COVID-19 patient but more information is required to be quite certain about it.
Quite optimistic about Chloroquine as a drug for COVID-19 Dr, Hahn says that “we really do need the data and the science to figure out the question is it the right treatment for every patient”.
The trials from FDA along with long tests will give us something concrete about Chloroquine being the cure or not. The initiative taken by the US government had been started long before they encountered a domestic case and that is commendable.
Let’s be together, not believe any social media post, & get updated with the solid proofs we get from the FDA after test results.
