Prevent adding Web sites in security zones of Internet Explorer.

This setting prohibits you from adding Web sites either in “Trusted Sites” or “Restricted Sites” list in the “Security” tab of Internet Options dialog box in Internet Explorer.

You can add Web sites that you regularly visit and trust not to damage your computer or data in “Trusted Sites” and the Web sites that could potentially damage your computer or data or may contain malicious contents under “Restricted Sites” zones. The security zones are found in “Security” tab of Internet Options dialog box under Tools menu of Internet Explorer.

By applying this registry setting you can disable the button to add Web sites in any of the above lists.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the sub keys “Internet Explorer\Control Panel” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value “SecAddSites”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can disable the option to add Web sites in security zones list. However, if you want to enable the options back, change the value data to “0” or delete the value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\] and create a new key "Internet Explorer".

Third, create a subkey "Control Panel" under "Internet Explorer".

Fourth, create a DWORD value " SecAddSites".

Now, right-click on "SecAddSites" and select 'Modify'

Finally, set the 'Value Data' to “1” in the textbox provided and click on 'OK'.
