Context menu is a very useful tool to make your working quite easy. You have many choices for working on a file or folder. If you want to open a folder or directory in the Explorer view but do not want to show the hierarchical position of the folder, you can use this registry setting.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the subkeys “\Shell\ExploreHere\” is not present, create it as explained below. Now, change the String value of “Default” to “Explore from here” under “ExploreHere” key.

Then, create another sub key under “ExploreHere” with the name “Command” and change its String value “Default” to the data “explorer.exe /e,/root,%1”.

However, if you want to revert to the original context menu condition, delete the subkey “Shell”.

Refresh view of your system for the changes to take effect.
