The "Windows Media Player" option is not visible in the 'Most Frequent List' in the 'Start' menu after the changes have been made in the registry.
The "Windows Media Player" is visible in the 'Most Frequent List' in the 'Start' menu.
First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Second, go to the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Applications\wmplayer.exe\] key, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on "New > String Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "NoStartPage".
Finally, the created DWORD will look like below.
